Harry Styles opens up about his feelings without the One Direction members

Harry Styles opened up to his friend and stylist, Harry Lambert, on Saturday, February 14, 2025. The pop sensation had his interview published by The Sunday Times, in which he discussed his feelings after One Direction split up in 2016, leading him to kick off his solo career.

The singer reveals he felt alone and pressured.

Referring to his bandmates, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne, Harry shared that he had room to hide because the weight on their shoulders was shared. He then admitted that the first moments without his One Direction members made him feel confused.

“There’s only ever so much weight that’s on your shoulders. The first couple of times on stage [without One Direction], I’d think, ‘What do I do with my hands?’ “

The “As It Was” singer revealed he felt very alone all of a sudden, and that there was a lot of pressure around what he was going to make following their hiatus. The pop star also shared that there was a lot of pressure around wanting to be whatever he made correct.

“But I also felt very alone all of a sudden,” he said. “I was lucky to have the opportunity where people were interested in what I was going to make, but I put a lot of that pressure on myself, wanting it to be correct.”

The future comes with a new album and a new era

Following these confessions, Harry Styles is ready to begin a new era. The British pop star announced the release date of his fourth studio album, “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally,” slated for March 6, 2026. He then revealed plans for global concerts across seven cities, including Amsterdam, London, São Paulo, Mexico City, New York, Melbourne, and Sydney from May through December 2026.

To start the rollout for his new project, the singer released “Aperture” on January 22nd, 2026. The track peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100, becoming his third song to reach this achievement.
