Media reports describe a historic opening walk for the BTS livestream

KPop juggernauts BTS are preparing a special comeback event at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, according to media reports published on February 4, 2026. The boy group is expected to walk a historic route once used by Korean kings before appearing on stage for a global livestream, in anticipation of their upcoming album “ARIRANG.” The news was first shared by Chosun Ilbo, but no official confirmation has been released by the group’s management in Big Hit Music so far.

Reports confirm the livestream schedule and the historical background

The walk is planned as part of BTS The Comeback Live ARIRANG, scheduled to air on March 21, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. KST on Netflix. The livestream will present songs from the group’s fifth studio album,” ARIRANG,” slated for a March 20, 2026. The route would pass from Geunjeongmun to Heungnyemun and continue to Gwanghwamun Gate and the main plaza. This path was first built in 1866 and was traditionally used for royal ceremonies and public meetings in South Korea. The plaza area, known as Wolgae, was restored in 2023 after major historical damage.

The comeback event highlights plans and international activities

The event will mark the group’s first live performance of their new music for this album. A feature documentary titled “BTS The Return” is scheduled for release on March 27, 2026, and will show the production process behind the record. After the livestream, the group is expected to begin a large world tour across thirty-four cities and eighty-one concerts, starting with an opening concert at Goyang Stadium. If the royal walk takes place as reported, it will become one of the most symbolic moments of the group’s activities in recent years, following their military discharge and joint appearances prior to their comeback.
