During a recent interview, ENHYPEN‘s Jake mentions Stray Kids‘ Felix and Bang Chan as his support system, assuring they have a close bond that helps him to deal with the pressure of the idol life.
On February 10th, the idol’s recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter was released, where he gives details about the boy group’s new album, ‘The Sin: Vanish,’ the pressure in the industry, how he takes care of himself, and more.
After Jake talked about his busy and exhausting schedule, the interviewer took the opportunity to ask him about what he does to take care of himself and what those moments for himself look like, to which he started talking about what he does to drain the pressure.
“The first thing that comes to mind is you have to talk to people about it. I feel like K-pop idols are very different from normal people—you can’t really expect to have a normal life, so I feel like it’s important to talk to other K-pop artists or other K-pop seniors that have been doing this for longer than me. They know what I’ve gone through. They all went through the same thing.”
The member of ENHYPEN emphasizes the importance of sharing your feelings and asking for advice whenever you need it, but the only people that can relate to his problems are idols, and he confessed he does not know many people in the industry.
“There are people like Felix, who I’m close to, and Chris from Stray Kids. They’ve been doing this for longer, and they know exactly what I’m going through. Because they’re also very busy and I’m busy, we don’t really get time to link up, but when we do, we talk about all this. They can relate to it very easily and give me advice. I feel like that helps me cope with everything.”
