The WONDERfools director addresses editing rumors
Questions recently came to light about whether Cha Eunwoo’s scenes in the upcoming Netflix drama The WONDERfools had been reduced following controversy related to his personal tax submissions. The actor and singer, who enlisted in the military in 2025 and is expected to be discharged on January 27, 2027, stars alongside Park Eun-bin in the superhero action-comedy series. Regarding the controversy, director Yoo In Sik responded directly to rumors about the actor’s role in the drama at a press conference in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The focus is on completing the drama
According to the director, the controversy became known while the production team was already close to finishing editing and post-production. In that sense, the director explained that the staff focused mainly on maintaining the overall quality of the series rather than changing completed scenes. He stated that many people worked hard on the project for a long time and that every moment in the drama was carefully prepared. Yoo In Sik also avoided giving detailed comments about Cha Eun Woo’s personal situation and asked for understanding regarding privacy.
“I first learned about the issue through news reports when the editing and post-production process was already nearly complete. This project has been a long-time dream for me, and every single person involved worked incredibly hard, even for a one-second shot. We approached post-production with the overall quality and completion of the drama as our top priority,” he said, according to News1.
