Cha Eunwoo is currently under scrutiny by K-netizens after the tax evasion controversy erupted. Eunwoo’s company, Fantagio, previously stated that the grilled eel restaurant was run by Fantagio’s subsidiary and had nothing to do with the Cha family.

}Recently, a representative from Fantagio told Xportsnew that the Cheongdam corporation is separate from the Ganghwa-do one. The restaurant has been operated by Cha Eunwoo’s family, and also reported that the restaurant is the registered address of a corporation established by Cha Eunwoo’s mother.

In addition, it was also reported that the restaurant was relocated to Cheongdam-dong in Seoul’s Gangnam District late last year and drastically changed its name. However, Fantagio denied the accusations and explained that it had no connection to Cha Eunwoo’s family and is instead operated by Fantagio’s subsidiary, Fantagio M

K-Netizens dug into the story and caught the company out in what seems to be a complete lie. A K-Netizen also found a post t from Eoyeoyeon Charcoal Grilled Eel that acknowledges the restaurant moved to Cheongdam.

“Hello! This is Ganghwa-do Eoyeoyeon Charcoal Grilled Eel’s CEO, Park Hyun Sun. Thanks to the past four years of experience and confidence we have gained from operating in Ganghwa-do, as well as the well-wishes of our customers, we have not only gone incorporated, but we will also be re-opening as Eoyeoyeon Cheongdam.”
