BTS is about to make history once again in the Kpop scene with their fifth full-album, “ARIRANG.” The idols are aiming for the biggest challenges during this era, including being recognized as a powerhouse of the genre in the United States, as well as being nominated for a Grammy.
The seven members have been nominated for the Grammy Awards on five occasions, including Best Music Video, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Album Of The Year, and
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance twice.
Despite not winning any of these categories, BTS has addressed for the first time their feelings towards the Grammys in a newly released interview by GQ Magazine to promote their new album. The idols are not that worried about winning an award, but about being recognized as artists in the American market.
“Maybe we’ll submit our album to the Grammys again. But I don’t know, we don’t want to be desperately eager for it…. We don’t want to say anymore like, ‘Ah, man, we want the Grammys. I mean, it doesn’t mean that we really don’t want it—but we’ll try. But if not, then okay.”
