BTS shows the work behind ARIRANG in a new Netflix documentary BTS: The Return, releasing very soon

Netflix previews the group’s comeback era with behind-the-scenes footage and personal interviews

BTS has officially returned, and the group is now giving fans a closer look at everything that happened behind the scenes. A sneak peek of the Netflix documentary BTS: The Return was revealed on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. In the short clip, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are seen during the cover shoot for their new album ARIRANG. The final photo looks elegant and polished, with the seven KPop stars dressed in suits and standing in two rows. But this time, the footage shows that the shoot required a full team of producers, stylists, and creative staff to bring the image together.

The teaser also shows solo interview clips with each BTS member. These moments suggest that the documentary will focus on both the group’s comeback and their personal thoughts as artists entering a new era. Some of the questions made in the preview include whether they are trying something completely new, what has changed most for them, and whether this return feels familiar or different. However, the clip does not reveal the answers yet, clearly building interest around the interview and the meaning behind the ARIRANG album.

“They’re back! BTS gathers in LA to record their album ‘Arirang’ in this documentary offering unprecedented access to the band as they enter a new era,” says a description of the doc

BTS: The Return will premiere on Netflix on Friday, March 27, 2026, exactly one week after the release of ARIRANG. The project features 14 tracks, including the single SWIM, and marks BTS’ first full-length album since 2020’s Be. The boy group has also promoted the release with performances in Seoul and New York City, with more events leading into a global tour in April 2026.
