BTS says the group wants to continue performing together into their 60s despite past doubts about disbanding. In an interview with GQ published on February 13, 2026, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook opened up about their plans as a group. The members are preparing to release their upcoming album “ARIRANG” on March 20, 2026, after completing their military services and focusing on their solo projects for over 3 years. They explained that strengthening their friendships has helped them handle the pressure of returning as a group.
Suga said the band wants to keep dancing and performing for decades, although he admitted it could be physically challenging. However, he believes it might be possible if they remain committed. In contrast, BTS’s leader, RM, previously shared in a December 2025 livestream that he had considered disbanding or going on hiatus thousands of times because of stress. He described the weight of matching their previous success, especially after their 2020 album “Be.”
Despite the remarks, members V and Jiimin praised RM, stating that he was showing his vulnerable side and how invested he is in BTS as a group. Then, V added that RM is the core of the group, and that the pressure of leading the boy band weighs differently because he is the leader, with V acknowledging that this is a feeling that he does not have.
After “ARIRANG” is released, BTS will begin a world tour in April 2026 with shows in Goyang, South Korea. The tour is expected to continue through March 2027 with stops in the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Some concerts in April 2026 will also be screened live in theaters, giving more fans the chance to watch.
