BLACKPINK’s Jisoo sister prepares for a television debut as abuse controversy sparks attention

Kim Jiyoon will appear on a new reality show premiering in May

Kim Jiyoon, the older sister of BLACKPINK member Jisoo, is preparing to appear on a new television reality program as public attention around the Kim family remains high. Jiyoon, who is active as an influencer, will join tvN’s “Kill It: Style Creator War,” which is slated for a May 12, 2026 premiere. Before her entertainment career, the 35-year-old worked as a flight attendant. She later began building her own media profile and appeared in 2025 on the game program “Super Seller: Incentive Game.” However, her upcoming television appearance is drawing attention because it comes during a time connected to controversy inside Jisoo’s family.

Interest in Jiyoon’s cast increased significantly after reports said that a man in his 30s, widely believed to be Jisoo’s brother, was arrested on April 15, 2026, on suspicion of sexually assaulting a female livestreamer at his home in Seoul. Since the initial report, this case has received heavy public attention, and other accusations, including claims of domestic violence, have also come to light. The situation remains serious and closely watched, especially due to its seeming connection to the “Earthquake” singer and her status as a celebrity.

Jisoo has publicly distanced herself from the issue. Through her legal representative, she said she has lived separately from her family for years and that neither she nor her agency has legal or business ties to her brother. Her agency, Blisoo Entertainment, also denied online claims that he held an executive position at the company. Despite that, scrutiny continued after reports said his name appeared in the credits of the Netflix series “Boyfriend on Demand,” which premiered in 2026, as chief executive of Jisoo’s agency. The company denied that claim as well.
