Members of aespa and Red Velvet teamed up for a special collaboration stage on January 31, 2026! Karina and Winter from aespa joined forces with Irene and Seulgi from Red Velvet during Day 1 of SMTown Live in Fukuoka, Japan. The four KPop divas delivered a joint performance of a classic song by f(x).
Short video clips from the stage quickly spread across social media. Fans reacted with excitement after seeing two different generations of KPop idols share the same stage for a classic song. In addition, other viewers highlighted the nostalgic feeling of hearing a hit f(x) song performed by the aespa and Red Velvet members. But this is not the first time Red Velvet and aespa have crossed paths, as back in December 2022, both groups released “Beautiful Christmas,” a special holiday song featuring all the members from each girl band.
“Chu,” was originally released on November 4, 2009, as f(x)’s third single and was later included in the group’s album repackage “Hot Summer.” The track displays a bright pop sound and playful theme. The lyrics talk about a girl who wakes up after receiving a kiss and begins to feel curiosity and hope about the world around her.
