Taylor Swift’s ex and The 1975 vocalist, Matty Healy, stirred the pot at Glastonbury on June 27, and it smelled a lot like subtle shade. Before singing the hit “Chocolate,” Healy took the mic and declared, “I’m probably the best songwriter of my generation… a poet.” While fans laughed along, many couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the potential reference to Taylor’s album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

The moment was full of sarcasm, complete with gibberish lyrics on-screen behind him to emphasize the joke. Still, calling yourself a “generational wordsmith” on a stage that big felt a little too pointed to be a coincidence. He quickly clarified he was just joking, but Swifties have long memories, and even longer playlists!
Taylor Swift and Matty Healy dated briefly in 2023 before calling it quits, and by 2024, Healy was engaged to model Gabbriette Bechtel. Meanwhile, Taylor moved on with NFL star Travis Kelce and released an entire album rumored to talk about her romance with the 1975 frontman in some songs.
