King Charles III’s former gardener has spilled the tea on what it was really like to work for the current Monarch of the United Kingdom for almost 21 years. The gardener was part of the staff of Highgrove House, the residence of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, so what did he say about the King?
Jack was responsible for sculpting the landscape garden on the Royal estate until 2024. He confessed to OK! Magazine that he had found it “quite odd” to be directed by the King himself. However, he always appreciates the monarch’s involvement.
“He was very much on the ball all the time. If he came home at the weekend, he would be out in the garden checking what’s been done, what hasn’t been done.”
Jack explained that King Charles III showed his true colors on a Monday morning when he demonstrated his genuine engagement with the garden’s upkeep. Jack explained that he was completely satisfied that the King appreciated the attention to the details.
“He would be like, ‘This needs doing, that needs doing. He was interested in the garden, and he knew what was going on. So, we all had the sense of satisfaction that we would get something right and know that it was being enjoyed and admired by the person who owns it.”
