But what has fans especially buzzing is a wink to BLACKPINK’s Jennie. According to a tweet from Pop Core, one character in the show was inspired by her iconic style and presence. The director allegedly mentioned this tea in a private meeting, saying that references were taken from the “ExtraL” singer.

Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, KPop Demon Hunters brings together an impressive voice cast including Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, and Daniel Dae Kim. Its soundtrack was also released on June 20, 2025, featuring lead single “Takedown” performed by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of TWICE. So now you know, K-pop lovers: “Demon Hunters” might just be the perfect mix of animation, demons, and music.
