Even with NewJeans locked in a long legal battle, HYBE’s ADOR is already setting the stage for its next big act. On June 12, the agency announced the “2025 ADOR Boys Global Audition” to recruit fresh talent for a new boy group. Boys born in 2006 can apply, showing off everything from singing and dancing to acting, vlogging, or even photography. The first online application window is open until July 2, with no limits on where applicants come from or what talents they bring.

The creative campaign reflects the same creative style that helped launch NewJeans into stardom. An audition video tells a short story about boys with different personalities and interests coming together to achieve a big dream. After the initial round, successful candidates will attend in-person auditions across major cities worldwide, including 9 cities in South Korea and 18 cities in other countries, like Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York, Sydney, and many more.

Meanwhile, NewJeans remains tangled in a legal showdown with ADOR. On June 5, the Seoul Central District Court held the second hearing over the exclusive contract dispute. NewJeans’ lawyers refused to settle, saying trust was broken. Since a livestream in November 2024 where they accused ADOR of contract violations, the group has been blocked from rebranding or working independently. The next court date is set for July 24, leaving NewJeans fans anxiously waiting while ADOR pushes forward with its new boy group plans.
