RIIZE has become the talk of the town after recording an impressive milestone with “Odyssey.” The boys were able to sell 1.79 million copies in the first week of release, marking their highest first-week sales since they debuted in 2023.
The Chart Breakdown reported that “Odyssey” sold over 805,000 copies on its first day alone. At the end of the week, they were able to reach the whopping mark of 1,797,200 copies. However, not all K-Netizens were happy with the boys’ success.
The astonishing number caught the attention of K-Netizens, who didn’t hesitate to spark a heated debate online, particularly regarding the number of physical versions available for purchase. “Odyssey” has 27 different versions, including group and individual versions, two package versions, and many other exclusives.
The K-netizens expressed their concern because of the ongoing discussions about the environmental impact of Kpop album production. The boys are indirectly contributing to overconsumption, and they are under fire for these versions’ strategies. What do you think?
