At Gimpo Airport on May 23, a lucky K-pop fanboy got the surprise of his life when he randomly bumped into BTS’s Jungkook—and even got his ticket signed! The fan, who was heading to Tokyo to watch a performance, had casually entered the airport early, only to spot a photo of Jungkook nearby. Moments later, he looked up and Jungkook was literally sitting right in front of him.
Thinking he might miss his chance, he mustered the courage to say a few words, and surprisingly, Jungkook signed his boarding pass along with two other lucky travelers. All three ended up on the same flight, but the story didn’t stop there! Turns out, our fanboy was seated close to JK once again and even walked beside him after landing. In a sweet moment, he shared his admiration, telling Jungkook how much he appreciated his music. As they reached the end of the jet bridge, the fan said, “Nice to meet you.” Jungkook paused and replied, “Nice to meet you too.”

The fan, who’s actually more into a girl group (yes, plot twist!), described Jungkook as “a household name for everyone who likes K-pop.” He also said he hopes the good luck from this magical moment rubs off on him. The photos of this airport moment quickly went viral on social media, with many fans debating whether or not the airport encounter truly happened.
With Jungkook expected to be discharged from military service on June 11, 2025, this chance encounter just adds to the excitement building around his return. And while it looks like the idol might’ve been enjoying some time off-duty, that didn’t stop the BTS maknae from giving this fan a moment to remember for the rest of their lives!
