The NewJeans vs. ADOR legal battle is continuing to heat up, and the girls are showing their bunny teeth! As their contract dispute with their label barrels toward a major hearing on June 5, 2025, NewJeans has expanded its legal team to a whopping 13 lawyers. They’re working with powerhouse law firm Shin & Kim, proving they’re ready to go all in.

NewJeans wants legal confirmation that their exclusive contracts with ADOR are invalid, while the label is fighting to hold on to the group. Meanwhile, ADOR has called in 12 attorneys from Kim & Chang, Korea’s biggest firm. With both teams stacked, this is becoming one of K-pop’s most intense legal showdowns ever.
The first hearing on April 3 revealed that negotiations were attempted, but NewJeans shut down the idea of settling. The court has already granted ADOR an injunction, which means the group is currently blocked from releasing music, doing concerts, or posting on social media as “NewJeans.” The injunction also bans them from dropping songs as solo artists, and yet a recent deleted post showing member Danielle recording music had fans wondering if this ban is coming to an end.
With June 5 approaching, Bunnies (the NewJeans’ fandom) are watching. The decision could not only redefine the group’s future but also shake up how contracts work in the K-pop world. One thing’s clear: NewJeans isn’t backing down without one last fight.
