Liam Payne’s final appearance will air this summer in Building the Band, a new Netflix music competition premiering this summer on the streaming platform. The late One Direction star will appear alongside Kelly Rowland, Nicole Scherzinger, and AJ McLean.

The show, hosted by AJ McLean, introduces a twist on classic talent formats. Contestants will form bands without seeing each other at first, testing their musical chemistry before visual impressions kick in. The former 1D member had already completed his mentoring segments before his accidental fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.

Netflix plans to honor his legacy by releasing the show as planned. The late pop singer rose to fame with One Direction on the 2010 X Factor. After the boy group split in 2015, he pursued a solo career and released his album “LP1” in 2019. Following his death, his former bandmates attended his private funeral and posted heartfelt tributes, alongside other co-workers and friends from the entertainment industry.
