BLACKPINK’s Lisa caused a fashion frenzy at the 2025 Met Gala on May 5, and not just for her edgy lace-on-blazer moment. The Internet lit up after fans claimed her Louis Vuitton look featured Rosa Parks stitched into the lace. With the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the outfit had everyone concluding that Lisa was racist and out of touch.
But it looks like it was all a misunderstanding. Louis Vuitton shut down the rumors the day after the gala, saying the lace portraits were actually the work of artist Henry Taylor, featuring people from his life (family, friends, and neighbors)—not historical icons. “It’s not Rosa Parks,” the brand confirmed via People, explaining that Pharrell Williams and Henry Taylor teamed up for the dress using Taylor’s artwork from past Louis Vuitton collections.
Lisa’s Met Gala bodysuit did not include the face of Rosa Parks, despite internet speculation.

Lisa kept things stylish with a sharp black blazer, sheer panels, a black purse, pumps, and an elegant hairstyle. But even with the brand’s statement, the damage was kinda done. The internet still wasn’t thrilled, calling the design tone-deaf. One thing’s for sure—Lisa got the world talking, making her one of the most discussed names of the night.
