BTS is one of the biggest boy bands in the world despite being on a hiatus due to their military duties. However, Stray Kids is fighting for the crown of becoming one of the most popular Kpop bands in the United States after tying BTS’ record.

On January 2 KST, The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) made a special announcement. They awarded Stray Kids’ mini album, “MAXIDENT,” an official gold certification after selling over 500,00 units in the United States.

“MAXIDENT” is Stray Kids’ fourth album to be certified gold by the RIAA, following “★★★★★ (5-STAR),” “ROCK-STAR,” and “ATE.” Stray Kids has now tied BTS’ record for the most albums to be certified gold by the RIAA of any Kpop artist. Both groups have gone gold with four different albums in the United States. Who do you think will break the tie first?
