Squid Game is back and deadlier than ever—Season 2 finally landed on Netflix today, December 26, at 3:00 a.m. EST, bringing an explosive continuation of the global phenomenon that first dropped jaws in 2021. As of now, fans can finally see Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) stepping back into the competition.
Despite most of the original cast being… eliminated? Season 2 starts by building on Gi-hun’s newfound mission to expose and end these sinister games. And here’s the juicy part: Netflix confirmed way back in August 2024 that Season 3 was also in the works.
Filmed back-to-back with the second installment, this upcoming third (and final) chapter promises to delve even deeper into the dark themes of obsession with money and survival. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk spilled the tea both Seasons 2 and 3 were written as one, yet Netflix has not announced a release date for the final installment.
