Due to all these scandals, people have come to the defense of Piqué’s mother. A friend of the soccer player’s family came out to defend her and affirmed that all the criticisms she has received in the last few days are unfair.
In an interview for a Spanish program, Maria said that Montserrat Bernabeu was a great support for the singer when he was on tour, and that she was the one who took care of his children.
“There are things that are unfair, they talk about Montse, that if mothers-in-law are bad, well this is the best mother-in-law I have come to know. When Shakira went to her concerts, I don’t know where she went, with the children who were babies and Montse had them, she took care of them,” she said.
He also stressed that the accusations and threats that Shakira’s former mother-in-law has received in recent weeks may affect her health: “A lot and Montse will not open her mouth,” she said.
