Thalia took advantage of her appearance at the Latin Grammy press conference to speak directly on this controversy and clarify that despite all the speculation and misunderstandings, her friendship with Shakira remains intact.
“As you just said, you know me, I am here, in this career of how many years, how many decades, and you know the human being that I am, and you know the words that come out of my mouth throughout this career,” she began.
Afterwards, Tommy Mottola’s wife emphasized: “I would never use a word like that for a friend that I love as much as she does, I mean, Shak and I have a friendship for years, she is part of our family”.
Immediately after, the singer revealed the reaction that the interpreter of ‘Te felicito’ had to the whole scandal.
“When the issue started, I immediately whatsapped her: ‘Shak, what’s up, have you seen,’ [Shakira replied] ‘baby, I know who you are, so don’t even worry, forget about it,’” said Thalia.
