In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, Simpson explained that he was moving forward with swimming training and might have to move to Australia because of that.

“I started training towards the end of our relationship. And it made me realize that if I did well in the sport, I would have to go back to Australia”, she commented.
“I saw that maybe it was time to turn this page into a chapter of my life. It’s something that not everyone understands“, Cody continued.
“That was one of the reasons that made me end my last two relationships”, concludes the singer.

At the time, Miley Cyrus confirmed the breakup in a live and said:
“Right now, two halves can’t make a whole and we’re working on ourselves to become the people we want to be, like everyone else at this age“, she was 27 and he was 23 when they broke up.
