Harry Styles debuted in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe in a post-credits scene from the film “Eternals”, directed by Chloé Zhao and released earlier this month. In the film, the interpreter of “Watermelon Sugar” appears as Eros, brother of Thanos. In a recent interview with Deadline, the director revealed that she never considered another actor for the role.
“There’s a lot of Eros in it”, Zhao noted.
The singer, who is on a world tour, commented on his participation in the film in an interview with Dazed:
“I only show up at the very end. But who didn’t grow up wanting to be a superhero, you know? It was a great experience, and I am very grateful to have worked with Chloé”, said the actor.
Like Thanos, Starfox/Eros is also a creation of Jim Starlin for the Marvel Comics, small but important participation. He is an Eternal, Avenger and inhabitant of Titan, moon of Saturn and land, too, of Thanos.

Starfox first appeared in the comics in 1973, only in a small cameo role in a kind of flashback by Thanos about his life. This life was always one of disagreements between the two brothers, who weren’t great friends, since Thanos didn’t agree with the way their parents raised Eros, with all the freedom possible.
When Thanos became the villain he is known for, Starfox used all his powers to fight him.
And among its powers, in addition to the superhuman strength, speed and endurance that every Eternal possesses, Starfox still has psionic gifts and is immortal. But Starfox’s main power is to stimulate pleasure in the people around him.
The result is: people feel good when close to him or even sexually attracted. Hence the name Eros, which is his baptismal name, a reference to the Greek god of love and sex.
The appearance of Harry Styles as Starfox/Eros takes place in the first of the two post-credits scenes of the movie “Eternals” and the singer appears already dressed in the character’s costume. The small appearance of the character suggests that the next film of the Eternals should have a greater participation of Eros in the plot, or even in other MCU titles, as the stories are all very well interconnected.
