According to an exclusive report published by TenAsia, GFRIEND is on the edge of disbanding. The members are said to go their separate ways as they did not renew their contract with their current label Source Music.
It is reported that the terms of the contract were not agreed, which caused the girls not to sign. According to the supposed leaked report, all the members will leave the company.
TenAsia did not provide additional information. Source Music has yet to release an official statement on the matter. Let’s remember that GFRIEND debuted on January 15, 2015 under Source Music. The girlband debuted with the mini album “Seasons of Glass”. Despite debuting with a small and unknown company, “Seasons of Glass” debuted at number 12 on Korea’s top charts.

The music video for “Glass Bead” became one of the most-viewed K-pop music videos on YouTube worldwide in January 2015. Billboard named the girl group one of the top five K-pop artists for look at that year.
GFRIEND achieved great success that same year, in September 2015. In July 2015, they released the song “Me Gustas Tu” from their second mini album, “Flower Bud”.
While it received some attention truth the next years, the girls attracted international attention after a video taken by a fan of the GFRIEND members slipping during a performance on a slippery stage went viral. The group was praised for their professionalism and so until this year, let’s hope the girls don’t disband.
